Roche Bros. Supermarkets is Massachusetts’s premier supermarket chain that is known for their exceptional service and courtesy, making visitors’ in-store shopping experience a pleasure. The quality and freshness of the food at Roche Bros. exceeds every standard, and shopping at Roche Bros. is like visiting several specialty stores within one location.

“Great branding is all about telling great stories,” says Dena Zigun, Director of Marketing at Roche Bros., “and we have lots of stories to tell about our associates going above and beyond and our outstanding food vendors—many of whom have been with us for decades.”

Roche Bros. wanted a website design that would connect visitors to the unique Roche Bros. experience by reflecting the look and feel of their stores.

Branding

As part of the research phase, Bergeron Creative visited all the Roche Bros. stores, taking photos and interviewing managers and associates to gain a better understanding of the store branding look and feel.

The new Roche Bros. website design connects visitors to the unique Roche Bros. experience by reflecting the look and feel of the stores. The site is a personal resource for each shopper. No matter who you are or where you’re at in life, you feel like the website was created just for you and your family.

“We’re creating a dynamic online marketplace that showcases the meticulously curated products as well as the offerings of local vendors found at Roche Bros. In addition, this brand imaging will allow online shopping, delivery, pick-up, apps and other technology-based services to feel warm and personal—consistent with the Roche Bros. brand promise,” says Al Bergeron, President and Chief Creative Officer of Bergeron Creative Studios.

The new website portrays the difference in Roche Bros. food quality as compared to the larger chains, with sections like, “What’s for Dinner” and a revamped recipe portal featuring a customer’s favorite recipes to keep the kids happy, create memorable holidays or even stay in shape. 

“We chose Bergeron Creative Studios because it was obvious they were willing to go the extra mile to make our website really special,” says Zigun. “They have invested a lot of time with us on both the creative and site development strategy—they get our vision for the site and what makes Roche Bros. such a special place.”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Digital

The website was programmed using WordPress, an open-source content management system (CMS) that features an easy-to-use dashboard interface that allows Roche Bros.’ staff to make timely content changes inhouse. Most content updates take only minutes to execute.

When a shopper first visits the site, they are prompted to personalize the site by choosing their location. That way, location-specific details will populate the site, including products, services and events.

Bergeron Creative created a dynamic online marketplace that showcases the meticulously curated products found at Roche Bros. offers. In addition, products are seamlessly peered with complementary products and recipes.

The website features profiles of Roche Bros. associates throughout, putting a face on the place and making it more personal—much—like visiting one of the stores.

Results

Roche Bros. now has a website that connects visitors to the unique Roche Bros. experience by reflecting the look and feel of their stores. In addition, they have an easy-to-use dashboard interface that ensures content changes to the website can be made in a timely manner inhouse.
